Thanks for your service, Gail!

Thanks for your service, Gail!

Last night the club held its Annual General Meeting which was marked by Vice President Gail Hewitt officially stepping down from the MFC committee after many decades of service.

Gail first came to Mulgrave in 1996 when son Glenn joined the Colts team. Glenn went on to play more than 300 games for Mulgrave, with Gail and husband Gary keen supporters and eager volunteers around the club - not only during Glenn’s playing career, but also since his retirement.

In Gail’s time on the club committee she has held a number of positions including secretary (2003 - 2005), vice president (multiple stints) and president (2006 - 2009). Gail was the first woman to be president of Mulgrave, and indeed one of the first women to be a club president across the Eastern Football Netball League.

A life member of the club, Gail has been a tireless worker for decades on matchdays, throughout the week and also within the netball program. The Hewitt family business, Huey’s Bakehouse, is also a long-time club sponsor.

Thankfully Gail will still very much be present around the club, however the time is right for all of us to offer her our sincere thanks for her decades of service. Mulgrave owes Gail and the Hewitt family an enormous debt of gratitude… we’re extremely fortunate that you walked through the doors all those years ago. True Mully people!
