Some announcements regarding leadership roles for 2025 have been made...

SENIORS

Senior co-captain Sam Kassianou has indicated he will step down from the captaincy role.

Sam became senior captain in 2022 with big shoes to fill as he followed club champion Dean Siakoulis in the role. He has always been a leader at Mulgrave and he took this to another level as captain, driving high standards both on and off the ground.

Sam led the club back to the finals in 2023 and repeated that in 2024. His ability to demand and inspire more from his teammates has been a key part of this resurgence.

It's typical of Sam's selfless nature that he always has an eye to the future. He welcomed Connor Tilyard as senior co-captain in 2024 and now feels the time is right to hand the baton over.

"It's been an incredible honour to captain this club and not one that I ever thought I'd get the chance to do," said Sam.

"Sometimes you know it's time and that's now. Connor continues to grow and he's a fine leader already. I won't be going anywhere and look forward to supporting him as a sounding board for years to come."

Sam certainly isn't leaving us! In addition to pulling the boots on, he has been appointed as an assistant to Senior Coach Matt Richards. Sam is a complete natural and he will add a lot of value to the coaching group. Congrats Kass!

Connor Tilyard will assume the senior captaincy of Mulgrave in his own right in 2025. A graduate of Glen Waverley Rovers and Eastern Ranges, Connor has achieved so much in just four seasons of senior footy as a two-time senior B&F winner. More than just a star midfielder, Connor's leadership skills have been obvious since the beginning and it's a thrill to see him as club captain in our centenary year. Well done Connor.

Alex Hardie has been appointed Senior Vice Captain of the club for 2025. Alex came to Mulgrave in 2023 and quickly won the respect of all. Alex is clearly a natural leader and is quick to take the initiative, rallying others to do the same. In just two years he has already put his stamp on the club and he'll make an excellent vice captain.

RESERVES

In great news, our reserves leaders will remain unchanged with Rob Blew (captain) and Mitch Peddle (Vice Captain) once again leading the boys out.

Rob and Mitch are both great Mulgrave people from great families. They bring a perfect blend of leadership, experience, relatability and personality to these roles, which are important in helping to develop many of our young players.
