Tonight at training, coach Matt Richards announced that the senior team will have co-captains in 2024.

Returning for his third year as senior captain is Sam Kassianou. A natural leader, Sam took over the captaincy in 2022 and has been instrumental in setting high standards and leading the club back to finals action. Already a life member of MFC, he’s played almost 200 games across all grades since first coming to the club in 2010 after playing his junior footy at Waverley Park Hawks and Glen Waverley Rovers.

Joining Sam, in his first year as senior captain, is Connor Tilyard.

Connor first came to Mulgrave in 2018 from Glen Waverley. Although his talent on the field is obvious, it’s Connor’s maturity, work ethic and character that have impressed just as much in his time at the club. At just 22 years of age he’s already a dual senior best-and-fairest winner and clearly a key figure in the club’s future as we continue our drive toward consistent finals footy across all grades.
